PC/Digital Background
I became a PC user in August'99 with a Dell purchase for home use. However, while employed by Rockland County, I encouraged
staff to obtain equipment and skills in digital technology. I was also instrumental in
having digital county tax maps prepared. The consultant was proposing to
draw them by hand over a digitized base he would discard. I supported the creation of a county GIS program, in cooperation with private utilities and engineers, open and cheap dissemination of GIS
info, and easily available digitized tax mapping info to the general public.
