Mission Statement

Rockland Opera is an independent, not-for-profit professional opera company serving the Hudson Valley region. Its mission is to present opera and operatic concerts at affordable prices to a wide and diverse audience. Productions are of the highest artistic quality in the belief that excellence will be appreciated at all levels of expertise and sophistication, even by those who may be unfamiliar with the art form. Thus Rockland Opera has become an important part of the community's cultural life. In fact, it is the only organization in Rockland County that offers professional caliber, fully staged operas. Rockland Opera also runs the Community Opera Workshop, providing meaningful opportunity for emerging performers to practice their craft.
