MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the American Red Cross in Greater New York is to improve the quality of human life; to enhance self-reliance and concern for others; and to help people avoid, prepare for, and cope with emergencies. It does this through services that are governed and directed by volunteers and are consistent with its Congressional Charter and the principles of the International Red Cross.

The Red Cross provides food, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities to victims of disasters like fires, building collapses and floods. We sponsor HIV/AIDS education, First Aid, CPR and Aquatics training. We also offer social services to military families/veterans.

Information about any of our programs is available by calling our office. Information about CPR and First Aid classes being held at the Chapter may also be obtained by calling our Course Registration number -- 1-800-514-5103 -- 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

New volunteers are always needed, especially those who would be interested in Disaster training and willing to respond to local emergencies.
