WRKL RADIO TO SIMULCAST ROCKLAND COUNTY BICENTENNIAL OPENING DAY CEREMONIES FEB. 22,1998

Rockland County Bicentennial '98 has received such an overwhelming response for tickets to the Opening Day Ceremonies, that Rockland 91 0 WRKL, has graciously agreed to broadcast the event live from the Lafayette Theater in Suffern, beginning at 1:30 PM, February 22,1998.

When it was realized that the requests for Opening Day tickets for exceeded the number of seats available, Herbert Zlotnick, Executive Director of Bicentennial 1998, approached George Youlios, General Manager of WRKL to see if the radio station might agree to a simulcast of the pageant. Mr. Zlotnick wanted as many people as possible to get a chance to listen to the words and music of the event and Mr. Youlios agreed to the idea because as he put it, "It's a great opportunity to give the rest of the County residents a chance to listen to history."

WRKL can be found at 91 0 on the AM dial.
