I started working with technology in 1984 managing a
database for a film company. In 1985 I
was hired by the District Attorney’s Office of Manhattan County as a database
supervisor for a staff of 15 during the night shift. I took several positions in the Information Dept of the D.A.’s
office to round out my experience. The
last position was in the Organized Crime Dept. where we developed a
surveillance tracking system to better manage the voluminous data that stems
from surveillance reports. And equally
important, be able to cross-reference.
In early 1991 the mayor of New York created an independent
agency to investigate criminal allegations in the Board of Education. The mayor appointed Ed Stancik, head of the
Rackets Bureau of the D.A.’s Office, to head the agency and put a team together
to start the agency. I was hired to
design, procure and implement a 100 user token ring network which I did using
Novell Netware and Compaq equipment. As a new investigative agency for the City
of New York we also developed a case tracking system called Sherlock that was
later also used by other investigative agencies in the city as a model for
modern case tracking.
I moved to Rockland County in 1996 and sought to work closer
to home. I was hired by Jawonio, Inc.
of New City as Director of Information Services to manage their small
network. Since then the system at
Jawonio has grown to a 300 plus user wide-area network utilizing fiber optic
cables to connect facilities within the 22 acre campus and T1 lines to connect
facilities throughout Rockland and the Internet. Facilities in Westchester, Northern New Jersey and the Bronx will
also be connected to the main campus as soon as construction is completed at
each location.
I also participate, in various capacities, with the
following organizations:
Board member & chair of the Technology Committee for the
Penguin Rep. Theatre
Board member & Correspondence Secretary with the
Hispanic Coalition of Rockland
Member of Alliance of Latino Leaders ·Alianza de Lideres Latino
